The Prince of Wales Lodge Supports The Butterfly Garden with a £500 Donation

Our Lodge was delighted to offer its support this month to a truly inspiring local charity. On behalf of all our members, our hardworking and diligent Charity Steward, Alan B. Page, proudly presented a £500 cheque to The Butterfly Garden, Bamfurlong Lane, Cheltenham—a remarkable project dedicated to helping people of all ages dealing with disablement of any kind. Continue reading to find our more about this wonderful initiative.

A Place Where Everyone Is Welcome

The Butterfly Garden began as a simple gardening initiative, but over the years it has grown into something far greater. Today, it stands as an educational, therapeutic and recreational project that welcomes anyone who may benefit from its calm, creative and supportive environment.

Its doors are open to all—those seeking a quiet escape from the world, those preparing to re‑enter it, and those who are still finding their way. There is no obligation, no pressure, and no judgement. Just a warm welcome and a space to breathe.

Aims Rooted in Purpose and Possibility

The charity’s aims are beautifully broad and inclusive. The Butterfly Garden strives to offer:

Diverse, stimulating and purposeful opportunities

A blend of education, recreation and therapy tailored to each individual

A safe, reliable and self‑sustaining environment

A community that values every person who walks through its doors

Participants are encouraged to explore activities at their own pace, choosing what feels comfortable and meaningful to them. It’s a place where confidence grows naturally and friendships form easily.

Open Door, Open Hearts

The Butterfly Garden operates with a genuine open‑door policy. Anyone who feels they might like to be involved—whether as a participant or a volunteer—is warmly encouraged to visit. Newcomers are gently introduced to the project, with only the most essential contact details requested. The emphasis is always on comfort, trust and respect.

Supporting Through Recycling

In addition to its hands‑on work, the charity continues to run a wonderfully practical recycling initiative. They are still collecting:

VHS video cassettes

CDs

DVDs

So if you have old media gathering dust at home, this is a perfect opportunity to give it new purpose while supporting a fantastic cause.

Proud to Play Our Part

The Prince of Wales Lodge is honoured to contribute to the ongoing work of The Butterfly Garden. Their dedication, compassion and creativity make a real difference in the lives of so many people, and we are proud to stand behind them.

A heartfelt thank‑you goes to Alan B. Page for representing the Lodge with his usual commitment and enthusiasm, and to everyone at The Butterfly Garden for the extraordinary work they do every day.

We encourage anyone interested to pay them a visit—you may find yourself inspired by what you see.
