Another busy week in the OSM! Wednesday saw our very own Rob Dewbery at a meeting in Burford for Wychwood Conclave, three Brethren took their Princes Degree (2nd Degree), watched by a full Temple, with the usual associated humour and banter that always takes place between Visitors and Members at the meetings! Thursday saw the 1st meeting of the year at Sir Jacob Astley at Stow with 2 more meetings planned over the summer months. Ola Olafare was inducted into the Order in an excellent ceremony carried out by the Supreme Ruler, Roger Hazelden, an Oxfordshire Mason, ably assisted by his team of Officers.
Saturday saw an early start at 6.15 am to go to the Provincial Grand Conclave meeting of the Province of Surrey, at Guildford. A lovely Freemason Hall, on the edge of town, hidden away down a backstreet (why are our buildings never in plain sight!), with splendid views over the river from the terrace outside the bar, where we enjoyed Coffee and Bacon Butties before the meeting started at 11am.

12 Deputies and 10 Provincial Grand Supreme Rulers, along with other Visitors and Members attending made for a 'cosy' meeting in aTemple with a low roof! Over 100 witnessed the new Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, Ian Smith, Installed by the Grand Team led by the Most Worthy Grand Supreme Ruler, Andrew Sweeney. After a fine Festive Board of Melon & Parma Ham, Roast Lamb and all the trimmings, followed by (2) Mixed Fruit Crumble, Coffee and Mints, we set off on the return journey at 3.30pm.
And the Cherry on the Weekend Cake was when Robs wife Diane had a winner (Presenting Milan) romp home at the 1.48 in Fontwell - Congratulations Diane on your 40th winner as an Owner since 2003!
All in All - a wonderful weekend was had by OSM.
