19th Jan 2024 - The sound of the pipes and drums filled the air and cut through the freezing breeze to warm the hearts in Stow-on-the-Wold. Members of Cheltenham Pipe band formed up outside Church Street Freemason hall to welcome 96 guests attending The Prince of Wales Lodge Burns Night Supper.
W. Bro. Rob D welcomed our guests for canapes and a glass of bubbly - only one glass Keith!!
Having concluded our Regular meeting, the members of POW rejoined our guests in the dining area and prepared to form up behind the pipes and drums and 'march' over to St Edwards hall for the Supper. And what a magnificent sight it was to see our mini parade through Stow and to be seated.
W. Bro Simon, accompanied with his Brother piped in the haggis and both give the traditional address to rapturous acclaim. Thank you to W. Bro Rob who give the Immortal Memory, Bro Malcolm for presenting a wonderful version of the poem WINTER, and thanks also to Bro Giles who toasted the Lassies and for Jen R for replying to the Laddies.
